Egg Tart Weekend

Here's a bit about our eating weekend with KTKK & the Lokes. Oh, and we had a bit of culture too.

Saturday was spent at the Three Emperor's exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Great artifacts & art. Was fantastic but a little crowded.

Then lunch at a nice Japanese restaurant near Picadilly Circus. Great Bento boxes.

A bit of shopping with a quick stop at the Apple Store then back to the Loke residence then off to Oriental City for dinner. Amazing to see a real food court in the UK!!! Yummy...

Next day, off to our favourite restaurant (at least our most visited restaurant) - C & R in Chinatown. Fried Kwai Teow, Fried Rice Cakes, Nasi Lemak & Roti Canai... mmmm... More shopping & then egg tarts all round at a Chinese cake shop.

The only problem was that KTKK and us were so full that we decided not to 'tah pau' any egg tarts. Guess what happened when we all got back home? Regret!!!

Thanks to the Lokes for putting us up. What a good weekend. Eat. Eat. Eat. Bliss.

Last Weekend

Last Saturday we went to visit a friend & her husband in a village outside of Oxford.

It was a tiny village and we had lunch at a fantastic pub called The Fishes.

Mr Kong had the "35 Day Dry-Aged Aberdeenshire Rump Cap Steak, Chips & Oxford Blue Cheese Sauce". Mmmm-mmmm, the best steak he's tasted in UK. Mrs Kong had the "Devilled Whitebait with Lemon Mayonnaise", also very good!

We were so full there was no room for dessert. Oh well, will just have to go back.

We also got an invite to go for a tour of Oxford when the weather improves (whenever that is!), complete with punting & shrunken heads... sounds good.

After our visit, we squeezed in some retail therapy at the famous outlet store location Bicester Village where Mrs Kong spent almost the whole time in Jigsaw & Mr Kong bought 1 shirt.

All in all, a pretty good Saturday.

Work Rubbish

Crap day at work today... Don't you just hate it when your boss says one thing and then does another the very next week?

One week its "I know you have too much on your plate so don't worry about Project X", the next its "Project X is the top priority, why is progress so slow!?" What a crock of sh*t!

Oh well, just needed to get that out of my system... back on the treadmill tomorrow.

Old Clock - the first one in the Kong household

Just hot off eBay, this retro new old shanghai china clock is the newest member of the Kong household. The first of its kind in this apartment, it is an old fashion wind up clock (no batteries!!) and ticks away like a time bomb.

(tick tock tick tock tick tock tick tock... etc)

We won't be late anymore!!

Northampton Town

Its almost a year now, since we moved to Northampton and it is very much home now.

Mr Kong: Its amazing how one can get used to just about anything. (chomping on grape) But seriously, we have made ourselves a comfortable home here with our flat, filled with flatpack & secondhand furniture.

We know the doctors; we registered with the dentist (yes, we managed to find one - Mrs Kong got her root canal surgery done!), and we even have a Tesco card for the local Tesco.

After all this settling down, ... yes settling down, we face the new year with the realisation that we might have to move again!! Where? Why? If we aren't moving every 12 months, we really aren't the Kongs!!

Blogging again

No entry for an entire season!! Winter 2005/ 2006. But we are back, with stories of living in Northampton (and escaping Northampton!).

We'll try to keep more up to date, with more photos too (we love photos!)
